Gary Foster, Associate Administrator, Banner Estrella Medical Center announced yesterday that Parminder Singh, MD, FACC was appointed Cath Lab Director, Banner Estella Medical Center.  Dr. Singh will assume responsibility for Banner Estrella Cath Lab Director duties in January 2012.  Congratulations Dr. Singh!

 Pulseless Right Groin… Bounding Distal Pulses Fri, 7/29/11 - 10:00am

Unusual anatomic variants are rare and can sometimes mimic atherosclerotic peripheral vascular disease. In the case described, physical examination revealed a pulseless right groin yet palpable dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial pulses. During peripheral angiography, numerous attempts at gaining right common femoral arterial access were unsuccessful. A persistent sciatic artery was identified. Read the full story

Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital are the only two facilities in the Southwest selected to participate in a clinical trial for an implantable cardiac monitor and alert system. Made by Shrewsbury, N.J. –based Angel Medical Systems Inc., the Angel Med Guardian device is designed t o reduce the time it rakes patients to get to the emergency room when they have a heart attack. About the size of a pacemaker; the device is implanted near the heart to detect changes in electrical signals.
