Egeu C. Barreto, M.D. 1937-2006

Dr. Barreto practiced medicine for twenty six years. He was board certified in internal medicine and a consultant in cardiovascular diseases.

He graduated from Colegio Catarinense in Brazil, and received his M.D. from Faculdade Nacional de Medicina Da Universidade do Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro. He did his cardiology fellowship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Phoenix, and residencies in internal medicine, chest disease, and gastro-enterology at hospitals in Missouri, and, hematology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Barreto was born in Laguna, Brazil.

Dr. Barreto has published seven articles in his career which have appeared in highly reputable and inter-nationally recognized journal publications such as Circulation III, Clinical Research, Journal of Electro-cardiology, Brasil Cardiology, American Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, and the British Heart Journal.
