Background:

Barbara Watkins has worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years. Her original entry into medicine was as a registered nurse where she specialized in emergency and critical care nursing. After 10 years of critical care nursing, Barbara decided to return to school at Purdue University and change her focus to business administration. Prior to joining the Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona in 2001, she has managed Maternal Fetal Medicine and OBGYN practices in Arizona and a multi-specialty group and internal medicine practice in Indiana. Barbara also worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center in the Business Development Division providing practice management services to medical staff physicians. Barbara has been a member of Medical Group Management Association since 1988.  She is also currently serving on the GE Centricity EMR Clinical Advisory Team.  Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona is a Premier Reference Site for GE Centricity's EMR.

In addition to managing the day to day operations of the Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona, Barbara works to ensure that all patients receive the best care possible.
