Amit Srivastava, M.D.

Expertise: Consultative Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Intervention

Dr. Srivastava is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He earned his medical degree through an exclusive, accelerated B.S. /M.D. program.  He trained in internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati.  He subsequently continued his education in cardiology at the University of Cincinnati where he was selected for the position of chief cardiology fellow.  His training continued in interventional cardiology at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ where he received excellent experience in coronary as well as peripheral vascular interventions.  Dr. Srivastava has extensive knowledge in the various disciplines of cardiology including consultative cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Srivastava’s research has involved studying the beneficial effects of injection of fibroblast growth factor-1 into myocardial scar for patients with refractory angina pectoris.  This research was presented at the American Heart Association national meeting as well as the national meeting for the Heart Failure Society of America.  He has also studied the relationship between isolated transient cavity dilation of the left ventricle during stress testing and coronary flow reserve.  He has most recently published an article related to predictors of beneficial outcomes in superficial femoral arterial interventions.  He was a sub-investigator on several prestigious trials including EARLY-ACS, IMPROVE-IT, TRA-PCI, and CURRENT/OASIS-7.
